Camp Singing Wind Announces the 40th Anniversary of the
Mary Collins Lodge
Toledo, WA, April 24th, 2009
Forty years ago, the Mary Collins Lodge was opened for use at Camp Singing Wind. The Mary Collins Foundation continues to support the lodge and in turn the camp. This Arbor Day, April 24th, 2009, we honor the 40th birthday of the Mary Collins Lodge.
Come help us celebrate by planting a tree at Camp Singing Wind in honor of Arbor Day. Join us for a birthday party including a cake to show our continued appreciation to the Mary Collins Foundation for providing us with such an amazing lodge to host campers and a wide variety of events.
Campers have long enjoyed singing songs and eating family style meals in the lodge. Rainy day activities were once hosted in the basement. Today the basement of the lodge has been remodeled to include dorm style rooms for visitors.
Nearly 100 years ago, Mary Collins founded Camp Fire's Lower Columbia Council which continues to serve local youth in Cowlitz and Lewis County. Camp Singing Wind has been a part of the community for 51 years and continues to be a place where today's youth can learn about the outdoors while having fun.
